0.0.0 Introduction Marketing Mix is a major theory in modern marketing that involves basically all that a corporation can utilize to persuade consumer perception auspiciously in favor of its products or its services, in order to meet organizational and consumer objectives. That is, marketing mix involves crafting and implementation of a marketing plan. In this assignment, I will discuss the most important marketing mix variables as grouped by Prof. E. Jerome McCarthy: i) Product ii) Promotion. iii) Price iv) Place (Distribution) During this assignment I am going to be making my reference to Apple Inc., specifically looking at their iPhone product. Here apple strategy was to penetrate the market, and thus as a result there was a lot of money spent on speculating the product and its promotion. 1.1.2 iPhone 3G The iPhone 3G was introduced in July 11, 2008. The iPhone 3G supports faster 3G data speeds via UMTS with 3.6 Mbps HSDPA, and assisted GPS. This model was introduced at $199 for the 16 GB and $299 for the 32 GB. This upgraded model has longer battery life and a 3 Mega Pixels auto focus camera. Apple having established its market in the USA with the iPhone Original, now concentrated on expanding more to the global market. This model is still in production together with the iPhone.(together with which iphone?) 1.1.3 iPhone 3GS This model has improved computer performance, which is faster, has a camera with higher resolution and an increased video capability, voice control, and support for 7.2 Mbps HSDPA downloading. It was launched in the U.S., Canada and 6 other European states on the 19th of June, 2009, later, in Australia and Japan on the 26th of June and worldwide in July and August 2009. This model was also introduced at $199 for the 16 GB and $299 for the 32 GB.
